CUSTOM OVERHEAD VALVE
Engine # 40 E 479
Frame # N/A
This is a custom built 1913-15 Indian, Single Cylinder, motorcycle. Built by the famous racer, builder, from the Pacific Northwest, Roy Burke. This early motorcycle has an overhead valve assembly on a 1913 Indian Single engine and it is a strong, go fast, machine! Built on a 1915 Indian cradle spring frame with a 3-speed transmission. This motorcycle is a great ride! A custom drum brake was also installed to assist with braking needs. This is one of the first 3 overhead valve customs built by Roy Burke in the mid 1980’s appearing at the Borrego Springs Winter Road Run and also at the Death Valley Run where it was acquired by the Current owner. This Custom Indian single cylinder has been in controlled storage for the past 20 plus years.
Those who have ridden this machine describe it as a rocket ship that is very comfortable on the road with attainable speeds of 85 mph or better! A total of about 10 of these machines were crafted by Roy Burke and his good friend Kenny Edmiston, also of Indian motorcycle fame.
